After turning his back on a lucrative computer career in his early twenties, Michael jumped onto a small sailing boat leaving Cape Town on a voyage to ports unknown. His love of the sea swept him across many oceans and to many countries until he finally made landfall in the Mediterranean, building a life in the yachting industry.

Very much a people person, Michael gained a wealth of experience and contacts on sailing and motor yachts, both private and charter over 15 years and then decided to start his own company, focusing strongly on the personal touch. Michael was fortunate to have several high-profile clients follow him, drawn by his natural enthusiasm, care and integrity.

And thus Roccabella was born and is growing organically, through close contact with clients, our personal approach, and attention to detail.

With Roccabella expanding and several professional staff coming on board, Michael has more time to concentrate on clients' interests, meeting up with clients wherever they choose to travel and building Roccabella’s exciting future.

It's a busy life Michael thrives on, and, despite the lure of the sea, in the off-season you might find him indulging in a little sky diving, kite surfing, enduro, and "bundu bashing" through southern Africa.
